Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and development of complex systems and components for heavy-duty mining equipment.
• Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) for 3D modeling, detailing, and preparing manufacturing documentation.
• Perform comprehensive engineering analyses, including stress, fatigue, thermal, and vibration analysis using FEA tools.
• Collaborate closely with a global, remote team of engineers, product managers, and manufacturing specialists.
• Ensure designs meet stringent performance, durability, safety, and regulatory requirements for mining applications.
• Specify materials and select components suitable for harsh mining environments.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation phases, providing expert technical guidance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation and revisions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design, with a strong emphasis on heavy industrial or mining equipment.
• Expertise in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and FEA analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
• Deep understanding of material science, failure modes, and manufacturing processes relevant to mining machinery.
• Proven experience designing for extreme environments and harsh operating conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in virtual collaboration tools.
• Experience with hydraulics and heavy machinery powertrains is highly desirable.
