Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading heavy mining equipment manufacturer. You will design and refine large-scale machinery, perform stress, vibration, and thermal analyses, and develop robust 3D models and detailed drawings for production.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and field service teams to drive reliability and cost efficiency, stay updated on industry standards, and deliver innovative engineering solutions for harsh operating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software: SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD.
• Strong experience with FEA for structural and dynamic analysis.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to heavy equipment.
• Understanding hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems for large-scale mining equipment, ensuring durability and performance.
• Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, fatigue, vibration, and thermal analysis, using FEA software.
• Create comprehensive 3D models and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Work closely with manufacturing engineers to optimize designs for production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Specify and select appropriate materials and components for heavy-duty applications.
• Develop and execute validation test plans for prototypes and production units.
• Investigate and resolve mechanical failures or performance issues in existing equipment.
• Collaborate with field service and technical support teams to address customer feedback and improve product reliability.
• Stay updated on industry standards, technologies, and best practices relevant to mining equipment design.
