Placements24 seeks a Senior Structural Engineer for its Durban team to lead structural design and analysis of marine and coastal projects. The role involves complex modelling, client coordination, and ensuring code compliance across offshore structures and port facilities.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s degree in structural engineering, Pr. Eng. with ECSA, and 7+ years’ experience in marine environments, with proficiency in SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required with structural specialization.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in structural engineering, maritime focus.
• Expertise in FEA software and marine material behavior.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for marine coastal projects.
• Perform complex calculations and modelling for wave and seismic loads.
• Develop detailed drawings, specifications and reports.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with clients, PMs, marine biologists and construction teams.
• Conduct site inspections of existing marine structures.
• Ensure conformity with SANS, Eurocodes, DNV and ISO standards.
• Manage budgets and timelines within project scope.
