Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor to oversee safe, cost-effective execution of maintenance work, improving equipment availability and reliability. The role reports to the Technical Manager and will supervise maintenance artisans on site in Durban.

The incumbent will drive preventive maintenance, supervise resources, and manage breakdowns while maintaining safety standards and process improvements. A strong PLC and project management background is required.

Qualifications

• Must have PLC and project management experience.
• Relevant qualification in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Trade tested Millwright /Fitter / Toolmaker / Electrician.
• Grade 12 minimum education.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the work unit to achieve work unit objectives.
• Plan maintenance tasks and allocate resources as required.
• Analyse maintenance and breakdown reports to identify improvements.
• Diagnose equipment faults and propose upgrades or replacements.
• Maintain electrical hardware register and software backups.
• Contribute to project initiation, scope, and budgeting.
• Supervise procurement and project administration activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and safety practices.
