Placements24 is seeking a Logistics & Dispatch Manager to lead the hub operations in Midrand, Gauteng. You will oversee dispatch planning, routing, and driver management to ensure timely deliveries and cost efficiency.

The role requires 5+ years in logistics/dispatch with strong TMS knowledge, leadership, and analytical skills. This on-site position offers a competitive salary and performance-based bonus in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in logistics/dispatch leadership.
• Strong knowledge of TMS and route optimization software.
• Excellent knowledge of SA road networks and regulations.
• Proven ability to manage large teams and drive performance.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and logistics databases.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily dispatch operations with efficient routing and scheduling.
• Lead, train, and motivate dispatchers and drivers to meet targets.
• Monitor fleet performance, fuel efficiency, and driver behavior; implement corrective actions.
• Develop strategies to improve delivery times, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety regulations, and policies.
• Maintain effective communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams.
• Utilize logistics software to optimize dispatch and track shipments in real time.
• Manage fleet maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Respond to operational challenges with contingency plans.
