Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Remote Dispatch and Logistics Coordinator to manage scheduling, dispatch, and tracking of a fleet from a remote setting. You will optimize routes, allocate resources, and maintain strong communication with drivers, clients, and internal teams.

The role requires proven logistics experience, familiarity with TMS and fleet tracking, and excellent organizational skills. This fully remote position supports SA operations and collaboration with the Tembisa hub

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics, dispatch, or a similar coordination role, preferably in a remote capacity.
• Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
• High-speed internet connectivity and a dedicated, distraction-free home office environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team, maintaining high levels of productivity.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving logistical challenges.
• Experience in the transport and logistics sector, with knowledge of South African geography is a plus.
• Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule daily deliveries and optimize routes for efficiency.
• Monitor real-time location and status of fleet using tracking systems.
• Communicate with drivers to provide updates and ensure schedules.
• Liaise with clients to confirm delivery details and resolve inquiries.
• Identify disruptions and implement contingency plans.
• Maintain electronic records of dispatch activities and metrics.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service for end-to-end delivery.
• Analyze data to identify trends and process improvements.
• Manage dispatch software and communication platforms for continuity.
• Uphold service quality, safety, and efficiency in remote coordination.
