The ideal candidate is an Admitted Attorney with 6+ years in technology law and IP, capable of working autonomously in a remote setup with strong contract drafting skills.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with minimum 6 years of experience in technology law and IP.
• Strong drafting and negotiating technology contracts.
• Proven experience in managing IP portfolios (patents, trademarks).
• Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations.
• Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle and IT project legalities.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a remote team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on technology transactions, including software licensing, SaaS agreements, and cloud computing arrangements.
• Develop and implement IP strategies, including patent, trademark, and copyright protection and enforcement.
• Advise on data privacy and protection regulations (e.g., POPIA, GDPR) and compliance.
• Manage filing, prosecution, and maintenance of patent and trademark portfolio.
• Review and negotiate technology development agreements and R&D collaborations.
• Assist in IP-related due diligence for M&A activities and strategic partnerships.
• Manage and resolve IP disputes and litigation matters.
