Job summary

Randburg Aviation Services in Randburg, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer specialized in jet engines. You will lead a technical team, diagnose complex engine issues, and ensure compliance with SA-CATS, EASA, and FAA standards to maintain airworthiness.

The role demands 7+ years in jet engine maintenance, a relevant engineering degree, and an AME license. You will drive continuous improvement and collaborate across departments to ensure safe, reliable flight operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license with jet engine ratings is highly preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive experience in aircraft maintenance focusing on jet engines.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a technical team effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulations and standards.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools, test equipment, and maintenance software.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on jet engines.
• Lead and mentor engineers and technicians, providing guidance and supervision.
• Interpret manuals, blueprints and schematics to troubleshoot engine issues.
• Ensure compliance with SA-CATS, EASA, FAA regulations.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Document maintenance actions in the CMMS accurately.
• Collaborate with operations and quality assurance to resolve challenges.
• Participate in on-call rotations for urgent maintenance needs.
• Stay updated with advances in aviation engine technology.
