Job summary
Indsafri seeks a Senior Java BPM Developer to join our team in South Africa. The role focuses on hands-on development and integration of BPM/workflow solutions using IBM BPM/BAW or Camunda, with a strong emphasis on Java 11+, Spring Boot, and microservices.
You will model, deploy and support workflows, integrate with APIs and event streams, and participate in testing and production support. Banking/financial services experience is preferred to understand domain needs.

- Kafka / Confluent certification – required/preferred

Job description
We are looking for a Senior Java BPM Developer with strong hands‑on experience in IBM BPM/BAW or Camunda to join a team responsible for developing, integrating and optimising business workflow solutions.
- Banking experience or finnacial services.
- 5+ years’ experience in software development
- 5+ years’ practical experience in business process analysis and automation
- Strong Java 11+, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices experience
- Hands‑on experience with IBM BPM / IBM BAW or Camunda 7/8
- Strong experience with BPMN 2.0, DMN and Camunda Modeler
- Experience modelling, deploying and supporting workflows
- Experience with external task workers, workflow orchestration and incident handling
- Experience integrating workflows with custom UIs
- Practical experience with Kafka / Confluent and event‑driven integrations
- Experience with Git and CI/CD, preferably Azure DevOps
- Experience with functional and performance testing
- Understanding of data‑driven decision automation and AI‑enabled workflow optimisation
- Strong solution design and troubleshooting capabilities
