Job summary

Indsafri is seeking an experienced BPM/ Camunda Software Developer to join our banking and financial services team on a 12-month renewable contract. The ideal candidate will drive business process automation using IBM BPM/BAW or Camunda, with solid Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and event-driven integration expertise.

You will design, model, deploy and monitor workflows, implement BPMN 2.0/DMN, develop integrations with UIs and back-end services, and lead automated testing, CI/CD, and performance

Qualifications

• Banking/Financial Services experience essential.
• 5 years' practical experience in business process analysis.
• 5 years' software development experience using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• 5 years' practical experience with IBM BPM/BAW or Camunda, covering workflow modelling, automation, orchestration, deployment and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with Camunda 7/8 and/or IBM BPM/BAW.
• 2 years' practical experience analysing business processes to identify automation opportunities.
• Experience in functional and performance testing.
• Proven experience within banking/financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of banking processes, systems and technology environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, model, deploy and monitor business workflows using IBM BPM/BAW or Camunda 7/8.
• Develop and maintain workflow models using BPMN 2.0 and DMN.
• Implement workflow automation, orchestration, external task workers and incident-handling mechanisms.
• Design and implement integrations between workflow platforms, custom user interfaces and backend services.
• Develop and maintain Java 11+, Spring Boot, REST API and microservices-based solutions.
• Implement event-driven integrations using Kafka/Confluent, including publishing and consuming events.
• Develop, maintain and support CI/CD pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps.
• Perform functional and performance testing and support deployment and operational activities.
• Identify opportunities for AI-enabled workflow optimisation and data-driven decision automation.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and mentoring to software developers.
• Ensure solutions comply with applicable technical, security, development and quality standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the solution lifecycle.

• Hands-on experience with Camunda 7/8 and/or IBM BPM / BAW.
• Proven experience using Camunda Modeler or IBM BPM / BAW tools to model and deploy workflows.
• Practical experience with BPMN 2.0, DMN, external task workers and incident handling.
• Experience integrating workflow solutions with custom user interfaces.
• Practical experience with Kafka / Confluent and event-driven architectures.
