About the Role

Our client, a renowned leader in the financial services sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Project Manager to spearhead critical digital transformation initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the ultimate flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for managing complex, cross-functional projects that redefine our client's digital presence and operational capabilities. Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic digital transformation projects, including system modernizations, cloud migrations, and digital platform development. Manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across business units and technology departments. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing proactive solutions. Drive the adoption of Agile and DevOps methodologies to enhance project delivery speed and quality. Coach and mentor project teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, security, and compliance. Effectively communicate project status, risks, and milestones to senior leadership and executive sponsors.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a senior role focusing on digital transformation and large-scale technology programs. Proven experience managing complex projects in the financial services industry is highly desirable. Expertise in Agile (Scrum, SAFe) and Waterfall methodologies, with a strong understanding of SDLC and change management. Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project) and collaboration platforms. Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills, essential for remote team management. A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. PMP, Prince2, or Agile certifications are a significant advantage. Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment, managing distributed teams effectively.
