Qualifications

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end management of complex Fintech projects, from initial ideation to successful market launch. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with product and engineering leaders. Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, budget management, and risk mitigation strategies. Facilitate seamless collaboration and communication among globally distributed engineering, product, and operations teams. Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks, dependencies, and critical path issues. Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular, transparent project status updates to executive leadership. Ensure adherence to agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and best practices within project teams. Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, team efficiency, and product quality. Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members, fostering a high-performance culture. Oversee the integration of new technologies and platforms within the Fintech ecosystem.

Requirements

A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on Fintech, financial services, or complex software development projects. Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects in a remote or distributed team environment. Expertise in agile methodologies and proficiency with leading project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana). Strong understanding of financial technologies, payment systems, blockchain, or related domains. Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field. PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Must be a highly motivated self-starter comfortable working remotely from anywhere in South Africa.
