Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex IT infrastructure and construction initiatives in Johannesburg. You will guide cross-functional teams, manage budgets, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining high quality standards.

The role requires 8+ years in project management with a focus on large-scale infrastructure. Strong stakeholder management, vendor negotiations, and familiarity with PM methodologies (Agile/Waterfall) are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive project management experience, with at least 5 years in large-scale infrastructure.
• Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure, data centers, or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of PM methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and project management tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is desirable.
• Experience in consulting or corporate environments; Johannesburg/Gauteng local work.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive project plans covering scope, deliverables, budgets and schedules for infrastructure initiatives.
• Manage project execution, including resource allocation and task management to meet timelines.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure clear communication among stakeholders, vendors, and senior management.
• Oversee budgets and financial objectives and report on milestones and performance metrics.
• Close out projects with post-project evaluation and lessons learned documentation.
