Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead IT infrastructure projects, including planning, procurement, execution, and handover, across network upgrades, server deployments, and cloud migrations.

You will manage internal IT staff and external vendors, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and strong security compliance in a hybrid work setup based in Vereeniging, Gauteng.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT project management with focus on infrastructure deployment.
• Proven delivery of network modernization, data center consolidation, or cloud adoption.
• Strong knowledge of servers, storage, networking, virtualization and cloud tech.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies; familiar with MS Project and Jira.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering; ITIL, PMP or equivalent certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution and delivery of IT infrastructure projects.
• Develop project plans with scope, objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Manage project teams including internal staff and external vendors.
• Identify risks, mitigation plans and contingency actions.
• Oversee vendor selection and contract management.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Foster effective communication among teams and business units.
