Job summary

Humankind in Sandton, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Internal Audit professional to lead reviews across financial services. You will scope, plan, and manage multiple engagements, supervise teams, and ensure QA of audit files.

You will present findings to client management, drive improvements, and participate in business development, proposals and fee estimates. Travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of internal audit, risk or compliance experience.
• 2+ years managing reviews and teams.
• Big 4 audit firm or insurance company experience preferred.
• Reviews completed at financial service providers such as banks or insurers.
• Experience performing quality review or QA of audit files and reports.
• Third-party assurance and insurance review experience is a strong advantage.
• Experience in client relationship management, including escalation meetings.
• Exposure to business development, proposals and fee estimates.

Responsibilities

• Scope and plan reviews with clients, agreeing objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Allocate teams, monitor progress, budgets and timelines across several reviews.
• Perform QA checks on all audit and review files before release to the client.
• Review and finalise reports, findings, risk ratings and recommendations, and present to client management.
• Attend client operational meetings and escalation meetings, and manage escalated findings.
• Identify opportunities with new and existing clients, and prepare proposals, scopes and fee estimates.
• Supervise, coach and review the work of Senior Consultants and Consultants.
• Oversee tracking of agreed management actions and follow-up reviews.
