Job summary

M-KOPA is seeking an Internal Audit Senior to lead end-to-end internal audit engagements across our operating markets including Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa. You report to the Head of Internal Audit & Risk and own audits from planning to reporting, ensuring quality evidence and timely findings.

The role requires leading audits, risk assessment, and delivering actionable recommendations while collaborating with country teams and process owners.

Qualifications

• Degree in a business-related field, IT, Business Information Systems, or a related technical/business field from a recognised university.
• Professional certification required: CIA, CISA, or ACCA (or equivalent CPA).
• Additional certifications (e.g. CISM) are an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7+ years' audit experience, including Big Four experience.
• Experience leading audits end-to-end across multiple markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits from planning through reporting and follow-up in line with IIA standards.
• Present findings to management and drive risk-appropriate remediation actions.
• Contribute to annual risk-based audit plan and resourcing estimates.
• Track closure of management actions and support methodology development.
• Mentor junior audit team members as needed.
