Job summary

M-KOPA seeks an Internal Audit Senior to join the Legal group as we scale digital and financial inclusion across our markets. You will lead internal audits end-to-end across Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, reporting to the Head of Internal Audit & Risk, applying IIA standards and internal methodology.

This execution-focused role requires independent management of fieldwork, root-cause analysis, and clear reporting to process owners and management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of audit experience, including Big Four or equivalent
• Experience leading audits independently from planning to reporting
• Strong knowledge of IIA standards and internal audit methodologies

Responsibilities

• Lead audits from planning to reporting and follow-up across multiple markets.
• Present audit findings to process owners and management with actionable remediation actions.
• Develop annual risk-based audit plan and contribute to scoping and resourcing.
• Mentor junior team members and support continuous improvement of audit templates and standards
