Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience as an Instrumentation Technician in heavy industrial or power generation settings.
• National Diploma or N3 Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, control loops, and calibration techniques.
• Experience with DCS and PLC systems is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Excellent troubleshooting, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and be on-call as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair a variety of industrial instrumentation, including pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, flow meters, and control valves.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose instrumentation and control system faults using diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all instrumentation equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Calibrate instruments according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
• Work with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plant safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, calibration, and repair activities.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance instrumentation reliability and plant efficiency.

Requirements

• National Diploma or N3 Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience as an Instrumentation Technician, preferably in a power generation or heavy industrial environment.
• In-depth knowledge of instrumentation principles, control loops, and calibration techniques.
• Proficiency in working with various types of instrumentation from different manufacturers.
• Experience with DCS and PLC systems is essential.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures and practices in an industrial setting.
