Placements24 is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Technician for a leading power generation facility in Benoni, Gauteng. You will maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation, read P&IDs, and work with DCS and PLC systems to support safe and reliable plant operations.

The role requires a National Diploma or N3 in Instrumentation or related field and at least 7 years of hands-on experience in heavy industrial settings.

Formación

• 7+ years hands-on experience as an Instrumentation Technician in heavy industrial or power generation settings.
• National Diploma or N3 Certificate in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field is required.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, control loops, and calibration techniques.
• Experience with DCS and PLC systems is essential.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Excellent troubleshooting, safety awareness, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and be on-call as required.

Responsabilidades

• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair instrumentation including transmitters, sensors, flow meters, and valves.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system faults using diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Calibrate instruments according to manufacturer specs and industry standards.
• Work with DCS and PLC systems to support plant operations.
• Maintain records of maintenance, calibration, and repair activities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
