Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Control Systems Electrical Engineer to join their Sandton team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing automated control systems for diverse industrial applications.

You will work with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA, ensuring robust control logic, commissioning, and technical support across sites. A strong background in Siemens/Rockwell platforms and networking is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years designing and implementing industrial control systems.
• Proficiency with PLC platforms (Siemens, Rockwell) and HMI/SCADA software.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking protocols (Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
• Excellent problem-solving in dynamic industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control system architectures including hardware selection and panel layouts.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems for automation projects.
• Implement and troubleshoot control logic for stability and performance.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and clients to define requirements.
• Conduct site commissioning, testing, and provide ongoing technical support.
• Develop electrical schematics, manuals, and training materials.
