Placements24 is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer to lead design, implementation, and optimization of instrumentation and control systems across energy facilities in Mahikeng. You will drive advanced control strategies, supervise commissioning, and ensure safety and reliability of industrial processes.

The role requires 8+ years in energy or heavy industry, expertise in DCS/PLC/SCADA, and SIS knowledge.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in instrumentation and control engineering in energy/heavy industry.
• Experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of PID and process control theory.
• Reading P&IDs and electrical schematics.
• SIS experience and IEC 61511 desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in Mahikeng, North West.

Responsabilidades

• Design, specify, and implement industrial instrumentation and control systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA).
• Develop control strategies, logic, and algorithms to optimize plant performance, safety, and efficiency.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and calibration of instrumentation and control equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in instrumentation, control systems, and automation hardware/software.
• Develop and maintain P&IDs, cause & effect diagrams, control narratives, and system documentation.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project teams to support plant activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Lead or participate in HAZOP studies and risk assessments for control systems.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in industrial automation.
