Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the delivery of major infrastructure projects from concept through to handover. The role involves working on projects valued from £12m to £150m and requires on-site leadership across multiple sites.

The candidate will develop delivery strategies, manage budgets, supervise site delivery teams and ensure safety, quality and timely delivery. A permanent position and opportunities for professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering construction or infrastructure projects on site.
• Experience managing packages of work exceeding £1m in value.
• Familiarity with NEC forms of contract.
• IOSH or equivalent health and safety certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work across multiple project sites.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to develop robust delivery plans, forecasts and programmes.
• Lead the development of delivery strategies, budgets and work package execution plans.
• Ensure effective scope management and challenge throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage and coordinate site delivery teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Develop strong working relationships with operational stakeholders and wider project teams.
• Create and promote a positive safety culture focused on efficient, high-quality delivery.
• Support the achievement of zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and reportable incidents.
• Monitor and report project performance, progress and key delivery metrics.
• Identify project and programme risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Adapt delivery plans to accommodate project changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements and compliance standards.
