Placements24 is seeking a Senior Information Security Analyst in George, Western Cape. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with remote work and a focus on safeguarding digital assets, risk management, and incident response.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of information security experience, proficiency with SIEM and vulnerability tools, and stronger knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, plus cloud security concepts. CISSP/CISM/CEH credentials are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in information security with focus on security operations and risk management.
• Proven experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools, vulnerability assessment tools, and network security technologies.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, Windows/Linux, and cloud security principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CEH) are highly desirable.
• Experience working in George, Western Cape environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and vulnerability scans.
• Monitor security alerts and investigate incidents; coordinate response.
• Implement and manage security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security).
• Collaborate with IT to secure development and infrastructure projects.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.
• Stay updated on cybersecurity trends and best practices; recommend enhancements.
• Manage vendor relationships for security services and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
