Placements24 is seeking a proactive Information Security Specialist in George, Western Cape. The hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility to strengthen the organization’s security posture, protect sensitive data, and ensure business continuity amid evolving threats.

You will lead vulnerability assessments, implement robust controls, respond to incidents, and work with IT teams to embed security across systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS or related field.
• 3+ years in information security or related IT role.
• Familiarity with security frameworks & compliance standards.
• Knowledge of network protocols & security technologies.
• Experience with SIEM and incident response procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to protect data.
• Monitor network traffic and security systems for suspicious activity.
• Respond to security incidents, including investigation, containment and recovery.
• Implement and manage security solutions such as firewalls, AV, and IDS/IPS.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.
• Stay updated on cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigations.
• Collaborate with IT teams to embed security in systems and apps.
• Maintain documentation for security systems and incident reports.
