Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Information Security Analyst for a leading cybersecurity firm operating in the Northern Cape, based in Upington. You will develop, implement, and manage security strategies to protect critical infrastructure and data, working with cutting-edge technologies and cross-functional teams.

The role requires 5+ years in information security, strong knowledge of networks, Windows and Linux, and experience with risk management and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in information security, with proven risk management and incident response experience.
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols, Windows and Linux OS, and security technologies.
• Experience with security assessment tools (Nessus, Metasploit, OWASP).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM or GIAC are desirable.
• Experience in the Northern Cape region is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor security systems and networks for potential intrusions and malicious activities, responding promptly to security incidents.
• Investigate security breaches, perform forensic analysis, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Manage and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations and application development lifecycles.
• Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees across the organization.
• Stay abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
