Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Cybersecurity Specialist to lead security operations and strategy from Upington. The role combines hands-on risk management with strategic guidance, designing advanced protections and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with focus on security operations, risk management, or incident response.
• Strong knowledge of network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and endpoint protection.
• Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and firewalls.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM) are highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cybersecurity solutions to protect against advanced threats.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Lead incident response, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Mentor junior security staff and provide technical guidance.
