Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering initiatives in Klerksdorp, North West. You will oversee full project lifecycles, from feasibility to execution, ensuring safety, quality, and budget adherence across manufacturing environments.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in industrial project management, strong technical knowledge in automation and lean processes, and expertise with MS Project/Primavera.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive project management experience, with a strong emphasis on industrial engineering and manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects, preferably within the Klerksdorp, North West region or similar industrial hubs.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial processes, automation, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD/CAM software.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience in managing project budgets and controlling costs effectively.
• Experience with risk management and change management processes.
• Professional Engineering (Pr.Eng) or PMP certification is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and successful completion of industrial engineering projects, including process improvements, automation, and facility upgrades.
• Develop detailed project scopes, objectives, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, technicians, and external contractors.
• Oversee procurement activities, contract administration, and vendor management for project-related equipment and services.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Ensure all projects adhere to stringent quality, safety, health, and environmental (QSHE) standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor project progress, track KPIs, and provide regular, accurate reports to senior management.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders, including internal departments and external partners.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage project changes effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations and achieving desired outcomes.
