Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Industrial Engineer for a manufacturing site in Kimberley. You will drive process improvements, analyze operations, and implement Lean and Six Sigma projects to boost efficiency and reduce costs.

You will design layouts, develop SOPs, and mentor junior staff while collaborating across cross-functional teams. Hybrid work with on-site production involvement is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer in manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with CAD software for facility layout and design.
• Excellent project management with multiple initiatives.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Design, develop, and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and work instructions.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize labor and workflow.
• Design and layout of production facilities, equipment, and workstations.
• Manage projects related to process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.

This role is pivotal in driving process improvements, enhancing operational efficiency, and optimizing workflows across various production departments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial engineering principles, methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, and a strong track record of successfully implementing process enhancements. You will be responsible for analyzing existing operations, identifying areas for improvement, designing and implementing new solutions, and measuring their impact. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
