Placements24 seeks a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to enhance their industrial automation capabilities in Klerksdorp, South Africa. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced control systems to optimize performance and safety across energy and mining processes.

You will lead development of innovative automation solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to operational efficiency and technological advancement within a dynamic engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial control systems engineering and automation.
• Proficiency with major PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and SCADA systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial networks, instrumentation, and process control principles.
• Experience in programming languages such as C#, Python, or structured text is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission advanced control systems, including PLC, SCADA, and DCS applications.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, network architectures, and system documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Implement and optimize automation strategies to improve process efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and integration strategies.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in industrial automation and propose enhancements.
