Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an Automation Engineer for our Benoni facility to design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems and robotic cells. You will develop and maintain HMI/SCADA interfaces and troubleshoot automation to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, 4+ years in industrial automation, and strong PLC/SCADA skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- 4+ years in industrial automation and control systems.
- Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell) and SCADA/HMI.
- Experience with robotics programming and integration (FANUC, KUKA).
- Understanding of industrial networking protocols and safety systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and commission PLC-based control systems and robotic cells.
- Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA interfaces for process monitoring and control.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation systems to improve performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Ensure automation systems comply with safety standards and industry best practices.
