Job summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to install, service and repair systems across hospitality and commercial facilities in Stellenbosch. You will work with chillers, split units, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation and extraction systems, with a strong focus on fault-finding and energy efficiency.

You will lead and mentor junior technicians, coordinate with contractors and suppliers, maintain accurate maintenance records, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• HVAC/Refrigeration qualification or trade certification required.
• Senior-level HVAC Technician with proven experience.
• Strong knowledge of air-conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and HVAC control systems.
• Valid refrigerant handling certification.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and emergency call-outs.
• Driver's licence and own transport required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, service, and repair HVAC systems including chillers, split units, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation, and extraction systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, and fault-finding.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs.
• Monitor system performance, temperature, airflow, and energy efficiency.
• Supervise and guide junior technicians and maintenance staff.
• Assist with HVAC installations, upgrades, refurbishments, and improvement projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and manage tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Requirements

1. Relevant HVAC/Refrigeration qualification or recognized trade certification
2. Proven senior-level experience as an HVAC Technician
3. Strong technical knowledge of air-conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and HVAC control systems
4. Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
5. Valid refrigerant handling certification
6. Leadership and technical mentoring experience
7. Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
8. Hospitality, hotel, lodge, resort, or commercial facilities experience advantageous
9. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and emergency call-outs
10. Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
