Job summary

CA Select seeks an experienced Repair Technician in Cape Town to assess complex faults and implement technical solutions, ensuring peak HVAC performance and superior customer service.

Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and on-the-job training of juniors. Must ensure compliance with OHSA and manufacturer standards; strong focus on accurate logs and site cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of HVAC industry experience.
• Extensive knowledge of VRV systems.
• Ability to run diagnostics and identify faults on HVAC systems.
• Proficient in reading/interpreting technical plans and blueprints.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Trade Test qualification is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and methodical problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair ventilation and air conditioning systems per standards.
• Run diagnostic tests to identify root causes of faults and risks.
• Repair or replace defective components with customer approval.
• Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to juniors.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and OHSA.
• Maintain daily logs and site visit records.
• Manage stock and tools; prepare equipment before customer visits.
• Advise customers on correct HVAC system usage.
• Conduct thorough site clean-ups after work to ensure satisfaction.
