Job summary

CA Select is seeking an experienced VRV Technician for our Cape Town Installations Division. The role requires owning HVAC installations for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, while providing technical leadership to junior team members.

The ideal candidate will install and commission VRV systems to high standards, manage stock, and ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures on all sites.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent education.
• 3+ years experience as HVAC Technician with VRV focus.
• Trade Test Certification and Gas License (highly preferred).
• Knowledge of HVAC products, tools and installation methods.
• Advanced communication and customer liaison skills.
• Ability to work at heights and maintain physical fitness for site work.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation and commissioning of air conditioning systems per technical specifications.
• Mentor an assigned Technical Assistant, providing on-the-job training and direction.
• Ensure stock and preparation are managed efficiently before arriving at customer sites.
• Conduct site inspections to identify maintenance risks and ensure compliance with manufacturer standards.
• Maintain high level of customer service and provide feedback to the team.
• Adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and internal quality standards.
• Maintain tools and equipment in optimal order and perform thorough site clean-up after project completion.
• Keep accurate daily logs and records as required by management.

Requirements

• Relevant Trade Test and a valid Gas License (highly preferred).
