Job summary

MCI seeks an experienced Senior HR Officer in Cape Town to provide hands-on HR support across the business, with emphasis on Employee Relations, HR operations, compliance and business partnering. This on-site role sits within the Human Resources & Talent Acquisition team and involves partnering with managers, supporting recruitment, and maintaining HR records.

Key responsibilities include disciplinary processes, grievances, CCMA support, policy implementation, and workforce reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ HR experience in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role.
• Proven Employee Relations and Industrial Relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and CCMA processes.
• Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, incapacity and performance matters.
• Experience in a BPO, contact centre or high-volume environment is advantageous.
• Recruitment/Talent Acquisition experience is required.
• Experience partnering with managers and operational leaders.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with HRIS, ATS and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage Employee Relations matters including disciplinary processes, grievances, incapacity, performance management and investigations.
• Provide practical HR guidance to employees, managers and operational leaders.
• Support CCMA matters and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation.
• Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and processes.
• Partner with managers on employee, performance and workforce-related matters.
• Maintain accurate HR records and reporting.
• Support recruitment and Talent Acquisition activities when required.
• Partner with hiring managers and the TA team on recruitment requirements.
• Support high-volume recruitment and onboarding initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
• Support HR projects, audits and compliance requirements.
