Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and implementation of grid modernization projects, including smart grid technologies and DER integration.

• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies for grid modernization, such as advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), SCADA upgrades, and energy storage systems.
• Collaborate with utility partners, technology providers, and internal teams on project execution.
• Ensure compliance with relevant grid codes, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to grid modernization projects.
• Develop technical specifications, project plans, and reports.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in grid modernization and smart grid technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power systems engineering, with a significant focus on grid modernization and smart grid technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of grid operations, power flow analysis, protection systems, and distribution network design.
• Experience with smart grid technologies, including AMI, SCADA, DER integration, and microgrids.
• Proficiency in power system simulation and analysis software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration or eligibility for registration is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and lead engineering teams.
