Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior GIS Specialist based in Centurion, South Africa, offering a flexible hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on applying GIS expertise across environmental, transportation, water, and Buildings & Places projects, delivering high-quality geospatial data and solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work with Esri stack, ETL tools like FME, and collaboration with project managers and engineers to translate requirements into practical GIS solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in GIS or related discipline with 6+ years of GIS experience.
• Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise and data management.
• Strong communication, collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, and ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain project-specific spatial databases and geodatabases.
• Perform advanced spatial analyses for planning, design and decision-making.
• Produce maps, web maps, dashboards and geospatial data products for clients.
• Develop web GIS solutions using ArcGIS tools and field support apps.
• Integrate GIS with CAD/BIM, APIs and field data platforms.
