Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior GIS Specialist in Centurion, SA, to apply GIS expertise across environmental, transportation, water and buildings projects. You will manage spatial data, perform advanced analyses, and deliver geospatial solutions across desktop, web and mobile environments, collaborating with project teams and stakeholders in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities include developing web GIS solutions, data governance, and mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

Degree in GIS, Geomatics or related discipline.
6+ years of professional GIS experience in engineering, design or environmental consultancy.
Strong knowledge of GIS principles, data management and spatial analysis.
Experience in multidisciplinary project teams and clear communication.
Proficient in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain project-specific spatial databases and geodatabases, ensuring data integrity and appropriate schema design.
Perform advanced spatial analysis to support planning, design and decision-making.
Produce high-quality maps, spatial data products, dashboards and web maps for clients.
Develop web GIS solutions using ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, Experience Builder and Dashboards; support field tools.
Integrate GIS with CAD/BIM, APIs and field data platforms; mentor team members.
Translate client requirements into practical GIS solutions and delivery plans.
