Placements24 seeks a Senior Geothermal Reservoir Engineer in Benoni, Gauteng, to optimize geothermal assets through advanced reservoir modelling and data analytics. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams to enhance efficiency and economic viability of operations.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, advanced degrees in geoscience-related fields, and proficiency with ECLIPSE/TOUGH2/CMG. Expect collaboration, innovation, and field-site travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years in geothermal reservoir engineering or closely related field.
• MSc or PhD in Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering or geoscience.
• Proven expertise with reservoir simulation software (ECLIPSE, TOUGH2, CMG).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex subsurface data.
• Excellent understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer in reservoirs.

Responsibilities

• Develop reservoir simulation models to predict long-term performance and optimize production.
• Analyze well test data, production history, and geology to assess reservoir characteristics.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new geothermal projects.
• Design and manage injection/production well programs to maximize recovery.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and drilling engineers to integrate data.
