Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geothermal Energy Specialist based in Paarl, Western Cape, to drive assessment, development, and optimization of geothermal projects. You will leverage geology, reservoir engineering, and power plant know-how to identify resources and maximize output.

The role requires 8+ years in geothermal settings, deep knowledge of modeling, well engineering, and plant systems, plus travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a geoscience discipline relevant to geothermal energy.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on geothermal exploration, development, or operations.
• Proven expertise in geological modeling, well engineering, and reservoir management.

Responsibilities

• Lead geological and geophysical surveys to identify geothermal resources.
• Perform reservoir engineering analysis including production forecasting.
• Oversee drilling, completion, and safe operations of geothermal wells.
• Design and optimize geothermal power plant systems and equipment.
• Manage project budgets and ensure regulatory and environmental compliance.
