Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Senior Geoscientist in Polokwane, Limpopo, to lead seismic interpretation with a focus on structural geology and fault systems. You will integrate datasets to build robust subsurface models and assess exploration risk.

The role requires a Master’s in Geology/Geophysics, 7+ years in seismic interpretation, and proficiency with Petrel, Kingdom or OpendTect. Hybrid work and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Formación

• Master's degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related earth science field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in seismic interpretation with strong focus on structural geology.
• Expertise in 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation techniques.
• Proficiency with leading seismic interpretation software platforms (Petrel, Kingdom, OpendTect).
• Strong understanding of structural geology principles, fault kinematics, and basin evolution.
• Experience in prospect identification and risk assessment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple projects.
• Experience in the Southern African region is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Perform detailed structural and stratigraphic interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data.
• Identify and map faults, folds, and other structural elements relevant to hydrocarbon exploration.
• Integrate seismic interpretations with well log, core, and other geological data.
• Develop and refine subsurface geological models incorporating structural complexities.
• Assess and quantify structural risk and uncertainty for exploration prospects.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers, petrophysicists, and other geoscientists.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, maps, and presentations for management and partners.
• Contribute to exploration strategy development and prospect generation.
• Utilize industry-standard seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom, OpendTect).
• Mentor junior geoscientists and share expertise in structural interpretation.
