Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Geologist with expertise in structural interpretation to join a growing exploration team in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The candidate will analyze geological and geophysical data, develop structural models, and integrate seismic data with well information to guide exploration strategy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural geology, with a significant focus on seismic interpretation within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven expertise in utilizing industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of regional and local tectonic settings and their impact on structure formation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analysis of geological and geophysical datasets.
• Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to identify faults, folds, and other structural features.
• Integrate well log, core, and outcrop data with seismic interpretations to build robust geological models.
• Evaluate the structural integrity and hydrocarbon trapping potential of prospects.
• Contribute geological expertise to exploration program design and execution.
• Prepare detailed structural interpretations, reports, and presentations for management and technical teams.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to refine seismic interpretations and improve subsurface imaging.
• Mentor junior geologists and share knowledge on structural geology techniques.
• Ensure data quality and consistency in all geological interpretations.
