Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geoscientist specialized in seismic data interpretation to join our Upington team in the Northern Cape. You will lead 2D/3D seismic interpretation, integrate across datasets, and develop subsurface models using premier software.

The role requires 7–10 years of experience, a higher degree in Geophysics/Geology, and strong communication skills to advise exploration strategies and present findings to management and partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or related Earth Science.
• 7–10 years of progressive seismic interpretation experience.
• Proficiency with industry-standard seismic interpretation software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive 2D and 3D seismic data interpretation to identify structures and reservoirs.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, core data, and other datasets.
• Utilize Petrel, Kingdom Suite, and Hampson-Russell to build subsurface models.
• Conduct seismic attribute analysis, AVO analysis, and inversion studies.
