Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Geoscientist for our client in Sandton, Gauteng. The role focuses on subsurface interpretation, geological modeling and prospect generation within hydrocarbon or critical mineral exploration.

You will integrate seismic, well logs, cores and geochemistry data to assess resource potential, manage exploration risk and develop strategies for onshore and offshore opportunities. Occasional domestic/international travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics or related Earth Science.
• Minimum of 8 years experience in exploration geoscience with emphasis on prospect generation and risk assessment.
• Demonstrated expertise in seismic interpretation, structural geology and basin analysis.
• Proficiency with Petrel, Kingdom Suite and GOCAD.
• Experience with data integration and geological modeling workflows.
• Strong understanding of play-based exploration concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.
• Eligibility to work in South Africa.

About the Role
