Placements24 is seeking a Geophysicist to join the exploration team in Cape Town. The role focuses on processing, interpreting, and integrating seismic data to support hydrocarbon discovery and subsurface understanding.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geophysics or related geoscience.
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on seismic data processing and interpretation experience.
• Proficiency with industry-standard geophysical software (Landmark, Petrel, OpendTect).

Responsibilities

• Process and interpret 2D and 3D seismic data to map subsurface structures and identify prospects.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, gravity, and magnetic data for comprehensive understanding.
• Utilize geophysical software for data analysis, visualization, and modeling.
• Conduct seismic attribute analyses and inversion studies to assess reservoir properties.
• Prepare detailed reports and present interpretations to the exploration team and management.
• Stay abreast of new geophysical technologies and methods to enhance exploration effectiveness.
