Placements24 is seeking an experienced Principal Geoscientist to join our technical team in Sandton, Gauteng. The role drives geological understanding, resource evaluation, and exploration strategy for our global mining interests.

You will lead complex projects, mentor geoscientists, and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams in a dynamic office in Sandton. The candidate will possess a PhD or MS in Geology, 10+ years of mineral exploration experience, and expert skills in 3D modeling tools

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in Geology or related geoscience.
• 10+ years of mineral exploration and resource geology experience.
• Expertise in 3D geological modeling and resource estimation.

Responsibilities

• Lead geological modeling and resource estimation projects.
• Develop exploration strategies for new mineral resources.
• Interpret drilling, geophysics, and geochemical data.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and exploration teams.
• Collaborate with mining engineers for resource utilization.
• Prepare technical reports and resource statements for stakeholders.
• Maintain best practices in fieldwork, data management and reporting.
• Stay updated on geological techniques and exploration tech.
• Contribute to strategic planning of the exploration portfolio.
