Placements24 invites a Senior Geologist specializing in exploration to join our client’s team in Welkom. The role focuses on identifying and evaluating hydrocarbon prospects through detailed geological analysis, seismic interpretation, and field studies in the Free State.

You will develop geological models, plan field operations, collaborate with geophysicists and engineers, and present findings to guide exploration strategy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology or related Earth Science discipline.
• 8+ years in hydrocarbon exploration geology with proven success.
• Proficiency in Petrel and Kingdom Suite for mapping and analysis.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation and well log analysis.
• Strong teamwork and ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Understanding of basin analysis and regional tectonics.

Responsibilities

• Interpret geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify plays.
