Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping and sampling in underground and surface exploration projects.
• Develop and interpret 3D geological models using industry-standard software (e.g., Leapfrog, Datamine).
• Plan and supervise drilling programs, including core logging and assay data interpretation.
• Estimate mineral resources and reserves according to international standards (e.g., JORC, SAMREC).
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports for management and stakeholder review.
• Provide geological support to mine planning and production teams to optimize extraction.
• Mentor and guide junior geologists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.
• Stay abreast of the latest geological technologies and methodologies relevant to deep-level mining.

Requirements

• BSc or BEng (Honours) in Geology or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in geological exploration and resource modeling, with a strong focus on hard rock mining.
• Proven experience in deep-level mining environments.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Datamine, Vulcan).
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis and geostatistics for resource estimation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex geological data clearly.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote mine sites.
• Professional registration with a relevant body (e.g., SACNASP) is highly advantageous.
