Placements24 is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to lead mineral exploration initiatives in the Midrand region of Gauteng. The role focuses on identifying new ore bodies, supervising drilling, and driving resource development with a team of experienced geoscientists.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Geology and at least 8 years of progressive exploration experience, with strong skills in structural geology, geochemical methods, and advanced software tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or related earth science.
• 8+ years in mineral exploration with a track record of identifying significant ore bodies.
• Expertise in structural geology, stratigraphy, and igneous/metamorphic petrology.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, Leapfrog, and Datamine.
• Experience with geochemistry, geophysics, and remote sensing.
• Strong data analysis, interpretation, and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of South African mining laws, regulations, and environmental practices.
• Ability to lead field teams in remote locations.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities
