About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed geological mapping and surveys in both surface and underground mine environments.
• Log and interpret diamond and reverse circulation drill core, identifying mineralization and alteration patterns.
• Develop and maintain geological models using industry-standard software (e.g., Leapfrog, Datamine).
• Perform resource and reserve estimations, adhering to international reporting codes (JORC, NI 43-101).
• Collaborate with mining engineers to define mine planning parameters and optimize extraction strategies.
• Provide geological support during drilling campaigns, including site supervision and data validation.
• Analyze geochemical and geophysical data to identify potential areas of interest.
• Prepare comprehensive geological reports, presentations, and technical memoranda for management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior geologists and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or a related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration and/or mine geology, with a strong focus on gold and base metals.
• Proven experience with geological modeling and resource estimation software.
• Solid understanding of various deposit types and geological processes relevant to South African geology.
• Excellent data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Proficiency in GIS software and database management.
• Willingness to travel to mine sites and fieldwork locations as required.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
