Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled and innovative Formulation Scientist to join our client's R&D team in Benoni. The role focuses on developing stable, effective dosage forms, conducting pre-formulation studies, and supporting scale-up from lab to production.

The ideal candidate has a Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field, 4+ years of formulation development experience, and hands-on experience with various dosage forms and analytical testing.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Hands-on experience with various dosage forms and formulation techniques.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment for formulation development and characterization.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical sciences, physical chemistry, and drug delivery principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop stable and effective pharmaceutical formulations for new drug candidates.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including characterization of APIs and excipients.
• Optimize formulation parameters and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and manufacturability.
• Perform dissolution testing, stability studies, and other analytical evaluations.
• Support scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and commercial manufacturing.
